Council Role
The Crossroads constitution gives the following role to elders:
- to promote the mission of the association and to uphold the statement of beliefs;
- to support the senior pastor in the oversight of such matters as are vital to the spiritual welfare of the church;
- to confer with the senior pastor in the initiation, conduct and development of such matters as are vital to the spiritual welfare of the church;
- otherwise to control and manage the affairs of the association;
- to exercise all such functions as may be exercised by the association other than those functions that are required by rule 29 to be exercised by the association in general meeting; and
- to perform all such acts and do all such things as appear to the council to be necessary or desirable for the proper management of the affairs of the association.
